Thanksgiving

Our friends Mary Kay, Ethan and Sylvia joined us for a feast mostly made by Aba.

The kids were done quickly and went to play until dessert came out. Then they were suddenly ravenous.

I was cleaning and couldn't pick up Dumpling right away when she cried. Then she was quiet and I came into the room to this:

Aba is back after an almost-4-day work trip.

In the last week Dumpling has started making more eye contact and smiling, especially in response to smiles. Here, she's completely entertained by Nugget for quite a while, even while he watches tv. 

People always ask me how Nugget is doing with a new sister and my answer is always that he's awesome about her. From the first moment he's been gentle, sweet, loving and interested in her. He hasn't shown any jealousy or malice either. (And we keep thinking this can't really last because that would be just unreal.)

Unless obviously posed, most pictures of them together are completely candid moments of Nugget wanting to be with his little sister. For example, in these photos, I put Dumpling in the pink chair, Nugget just sat himself right next to her and started chatting and keeping her company.
