Nugget frequently delays us when leaving gan. Today he was goofing around in the driver's seat while I was strapping in Dumpling. I heard him lock the doors while I was waiting for him to get into his own seat but I promptly forgot about it. Ten minutes later, I was finally able to convince him to sit in his seat. I buckled Nugget in, closed his door and found my door locked. I found that all the doors were locked and my bag with the keys was on the front passenger seat. The gan teachers came out on their way home and saw our predicament. They tried to get Nugget to reach for the lock and to unbuckle himself but those buckles can be tough for an adult.
Eventually Brit (on the right) was able to talk Nugget through sliding the chest buckle down far enough for him to get his arms out. He couldn't get completely out of his seat but he was able to unlock the door and
save the day. Then I called Aba and told him we didn't need to him to come rescue us after all.
Nugget was grinning the entire time and thought the whole experience was a great game. Kids.
